Evaluation and therapy for vertigo, imbalance, gait disorders, and vestibular loss
Did You Know?
* Dizziness and loss of balance is the #3 reason individuals over the age of 65 seek medical attention.
* It becomes the #1 reason over the age of 70.
* A deficit in any one of the three main systems that maintain balance -- visual input, vestibular input (inner ear) and postural control -- can cause dizziness and/or imbalance, which increases the risk for falls and serious injury.

Spinal Decompression Traction is performed on a specially designed table and a computer controlled traction device that is programmed to deliver a gentle stretching force to the spinal vertebra.
Spinal Decompression Traction Video
THE RESULTS

Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab can help improve your sports performance.
Various factors affecting sports performance include:
Strength
Strong muscles help joint maintain their stability. With muscle weakness, you are more likely to lose or have difficulty regaining your balance.
Flexibility
Flexible muscles allow you to move without restrictions. Muscle tightness makes it more difficult to balance in challenging situations.
Vision
When balancing, we rely on our eyes to send a message to the brain in order to maintain an upright position. With loss of vision, the brain does not get this input, and must rely on other factors to balance.
Even versus Uneven Surface
It is easier to maintain balance on a hard, level surface. When standing on a changing or uneven surface (i.e. grassy hill, beach, and ice) your muscles have to constantly work to prevent a fall.
Situational or Environmental Challenges
An activity that requires you to respond to an outside force or factor, such as catching a football before being tackled, demands better balance. Even something as simple as reaching for a glass on a high shelf can challenge your balance.
Age
Age is thought to contribute to poor balance. It is often the combination of loss of flexibility, strength and vision associated with aging that is responsible for balance deficits and falls in the elderly.
Nutrition
Nutrition is a key component in maintaining a proper balance for your body to perform optimally.
There are so many avenues to follow depending on your personal goals.
